About Open Fingerprints
A community-maintained reference for understanding network behavior.
Open Fingerprints is being built to collect and publish network fingerprints for browsers, libraries, applications, and protocol implementations. Its purpose is shared observations, reproducible capture, clear formats, and useful public databases.
It is not a threat intelligence service. A fingerprint's source and a client's intent are different questions.
Sources and participation
The related eBPF project supplies capture and formatting work. Planned data sources include our honeypot, fingerprints donated by Peakhour, and community samples. Publication still requires review, source permissions, and applicable terms.
Project references
CrowdSec is a reference for shared participation and feeds. OpenSourceMalware informs our approach to contribution visibility, attribution, and review. Open Fingerprints is not intended to compete with CrowdSec.
Cisco Mercury and JA4 are technical references. Accessible code, documented methods, database availability, and reuse terms must be evaluated separately.
What comes next
First come public schemas, reviewed software documentation, licensing decisions, and a real database release. Limited accounts support signup, login and deletion. Email verification and password recovery are unavailable. Feed delivery and automated submissions remain future work. Paid integrations, including possible WHM support, are later plans.
Maintainer details and a public repository link will be added when confirmed.
